And on the telly…..
Røas Dynamite girls blown to bits at Nadderud.
Røa have never beaten Stabæk, neither in regular matches nor in training matches. This winter Chicksa won 7 – 2 in a training match at the artificial turf at Nadderud. At that time the Røa players said that it was only a practice match. They were absolutely right. When we came to the regular season, Stabæk stepped up their defensive play a notch.
And we had a party in beautiful conditions at Nadderud on Saturday. Captain Katrine Pedersen set the tone with a goal after only three minutes – putting her head onto a well placed corner by Lisa Woods. From then on in it was only a question of how many goals the Blues would score. And the final tally of seven gives an accurate picture of the match.
Lisa Marie Woods was chosen as the most important Stabæk player of the match by Stabæk Support and S.A.T.S. With two goals and two assists it was an easy choice. Ingrid Camille Fosse Sæthre opened up her own scoring account with her first for the season – Stabæks seventh for the day. As did Supermario og Saba Soofi – the latter in front of 20 super enthusiastic supporters from her own Kongsberg mother club.
In front of 612 spectators, including men’s coach Janne Jönsson and several of the Stabæk men’s team players, Chicksa entertained at times with Champagne football. And if there is one regret to be had after such a match, it is that only 600+ spectators have discovered how much fun can be had at Nadderud – for the price equivalent of two hot dogs and a soft soft drink. Everyone present, less possibly half a dozen Røa supporters, were very happy with what they saw won the pitch, and they all contributed to a fantastic atmosphere on the stands under a beautiful and warming spring sun at good old Nadderud. While Stabæk’s international players such as Lise Klaveness, Katrine Pedersen, Ingrid Hjelmseth, Trine Rønning, Toril Akerhaugen, Kristy Moore and aforementioned Woods provided first class entertainment on the field.
Røa did come out with a slightly improved formation in the second half as coach Nordby moved Elise Thorsnes from back to attack. But the light they perceived at the end of the tunnel at the beginning of the second half turned out to be oncoming freight train…
Røa seemed visibly comforted by only having a short trip home. They got straight into their cars after the match and took their showers in the comforts of their own homes – far away from the journalists many questions.
LSK Women still top the table after a comfortable victory over Linderud. However, in only two weeks they meet Chicksa at Nadderud – so come on out Monday 24th May at 13:00 and support Chicksa as they attempt to ascend to the top of the league table.
