Not wanting to be outdone by the Chicksa, the Blues scored a full dozen in their first round cup match at Høland.

After Chicksa’s last weeks 10 – 0 victory at Konnerud in their first round tie, the men in Blue were keen to show that they where in no worse shape in their first round tie against 3rd divison team Høland. And they did not stop before the score board showed 12 goals scored, while one conciliation goal was given.

The Blues started with the following 11 men on the field.

Taking a leaf out for Chicksa’s book, the Blues dominate the match from the opening whistle – and it takes only four minutes before Hølands keeper, Nikolay Torgersen, have to pick the first ball out of the net. Mix fires from 25 meters out and the ball sails over the head of the keeper and into the goal.

After the 13 minutes Jan Banan scores number two when the Høland keeper forgets to wipe the butter off his gloves and drops the ball onto the waiting feet of the Stabæk striker.

And so it goes on. In the fifteenth minute Espen Hoff scores on a return after a fine Bernt Hulsker shot. Two minutes later Hulsker does it all by himself, passing two defenders and placing the ball resolutely in the back of the net. Hulsker later gets his second, and the teams fifth, with a header after a Hedenstad cross.

The second half starts much like the first. After five minutes a poor clearance by the Høland defenders is expedited into the goal by Mix. Three minutes later a Skjelvik cross is converted by Hulsker. Leading 7 – 0 the Blues let down the guard somewhat, allowing Høland a conciliation goal. This obviously wake up the Blues and 8 -1 followed shortly, signed Kristian Onstad.

Jan Banan and Hoff then both add their second for the day, while Hulsker completes his own “quad” trick one minute before time. Veigar Pall Gunnarsson ends the show with a goal two minutes into overtime.

All in all, it was a most enjoyable first round cup excursion to the country on this Ascension Day.

The next round is to be played against county rival – second division Bærum - on Wednesday 19th May.
