4 – 0 victory over Linderud-Grei was quite OK.

As any skier knows, without the right type of wax you may get a rough ride. It was not an altogether smooth ride at the beginning of the first half against Linderud-Grei. Coach Finjord had to shuffle the set up of the team somewhat after pre-match injuries to Cathrine Pedersen and Ina Skaug. The situation was not made easier by a sprained ancle suffered by Ingrid Camilla Fosse Sæthre after about half an hour. However, Line Holter made her season debut as a midfield anchor and put on a solid performance. Young Ingrid Bakke replaced Fosse Sæthre on the field, and she, too, made the most of this opportunity, and impressed with her play on the field.

1-0 came after classic Stabæk attack: many passes, all one touch, rapid movements along the horizontal axis of the field – and Lise Klaveness had an easy task scoring her ninth goal for the season in match number nine. The two teams went to half time with the score 1 – 0 to the Blues, Grei not having produced one scoring opportunity during the first 45 minutes. And the 132 strong predominantly Blue crowd could enjoy hot dogs and some unusually good waffles served by friendly Stabæk supporting staff (friends of Line Hauge) in the Grei kiosk.

Chixa elevated their level of play in the second half. No more passes ending up at Linderud-Grei feet, improved timing and speed – and three more goals were scored, bringing the total tally to four. Lisa Woods had the pleasure of placing two balls behind the keeper, and in the 78th minute Lise Klaveness served Kristy Moore her first Toppserie goal for the season – incredibly well deserved for the winger who has put in tremendous amounts of work so far, doing just about everything right, save score, before today.

Credit should also be given to a positive Linderud-Grei team that never gave up, despite only producing a couple of half chances towards the end of the match.

Stabæk has not allowed any goals against in seven of the nine matches so far this season. A solid back four allows confidence to spread to all other parts of the field, and the team is able to grind away at the opponent even when everything is not always running smoothly.

Our injury situation is not as bad as it may seem. Maiken Pape, who has been out for about a month, got her first couple of minutes back on the field at the end of this match. And Ina Skaug and Katrine Pedersen should both be ready before the cup match against Sandviken on Monday 7th June (at 18:30). This match probably comes a bit too early for Ingrid Camilla, but we expect her to be fit for fight for our next home game, against Amazon Grimstad, the 15th of June.

And as a final note – after this match all players on the team has had their time on the field in Toppserien.
