Stabæk meet ØHIL Juniors (G19) who meet up with several former Stabæk players in their start eleven. Stabæk’s starting formation has to be adjusted already after 5 minutes, as Marcus has to take-over for the injured Ola, as centre back, Endre moving into central midfield, and Jostein coming in as left wing.

The first half sees Stabæk move the ball patiently and constructively out of defence but ØHILs two centre backs are usually quickest to any through ball from Stabæk’s midfield. Whilst Stabæk’s defense is well drilled in establishing attack, it gives too much time and room to ØHILs attackers. ØHIL are the more dangerous of the two teams in the first half, and have the best chances. Stabæk can thank their good keeper, Carl Fredrik, for keeping the scores level until the break, with two impressive one-against-one saves. The closest Stabæk come to scoring is a hard shot from Eivind after 12 minutes which is blocked by ØHIL’s keeper.

In the second half Stabæk are the much more dangerous team, using more width in establishing their attacks; Ola (97) makes an immediate impact on the right side of midfield with several aggressive raids down the flank, creating good shooting chances for Stabæk’s attackers. He shows no respect for the up-to 4 years older ØHIL players; a good example to his (also older) teammates.

50 min. A good shot by Daniel forces a return from the keeper which Alexander plants in the net. The referee unfortunately blows for an offside which the supporter club couldn’t explain at all.

Stabæk finally break through in the 64th min. A corner taken by Marcus to the far post has a family address, and falls for his brother Frederik to convert from 6 metres.

Stabæk have several good chances in the next 8 minutes with both Daniel and Alexander missing narrowly. Against the run of play, after 72 minutes, ØHIL have a breakaway attack and a shot frm 16 metres takes an unfortunate deflection and leaves Carl Fredrik helpless.

2-1 Stabæk.

75 minutes and Alexander receives a return ball from an ØHIL defender and shows good technique to score a full volley from 15 metres.

3-1 Stabæk.

There follows a period where Stabæk lose the ball unnecessarily, too often, just outside ØHIL’s penalty-box but all the same finish with a good attack and Alexander scores in the 91st minute, from 10 metres.
